Our grout looks very dirty even though I clean it all the time. Is this common?

Yes. Grout is very absorbent even with everyday cleaning it absorbs dirty water, oils and acids. These contaminants make your tile unsightly, plus they can cause grout erosion and lead to harmful bacteria and mold growth.

About Grout employees are trained with the best techniques and products to successfully bring back the natural beauty and function of your tile and grout.

Should we have our tile sealed?

Absolutely yes! Besides having been chosen for its beauty, tile was designed for protection against the elements. Water is your worst enemy if it gets past your tile!

Usually the tile itself is nonabsorbent; however, untreated grout will result in water damage to itself and the underlying surfaces.

Most other tile contractors know little about the ramifications of whether or not to seal your tile and grout. We offer various types of sealing techniques customized to your needs.

What is the best way to correct my grout and seal it to?

Use Epoxy Sealers. Grout is very absorbent in wet applications, say on a shower wall, water can pass through grout into the wall board causing deterioration and dry rot. At minimum, the grout gets stained and discolored.

Cleaning with harsh chemicals and scrubbing only worsens the area and leads to erosion and bleached out colors.

About Grout hand paints grout with a colored epoxy based sealer. This sealer looks natural and does not finish shinny. Once cured, the colored epoxy sealer becomes extremely durable and highly resistant to chemicals and wear.

The result is 100% nonabsorbent grout that looks new and is functional for up to 15 years (manufacturer's rating). This treatment is the backbone of our business.

What should we look for when choosing the right tile installation company?

There are various companies and individuals who install tile. Some specialize, some do not. What sets About Grout apart from the rest is our commitment to preserving tile and grout beyond its otherwise short lifespan, while offering an ease of maintenance not realized before.

While our specialty being one of preventive service, we come in contact with many problems associated with poor installations. Most of these problems could have been associated either in the beginning or along the way. Sometimes we have no choice but to rebuild showers and tub surrounds.

The average age for most water damaged showers is only ten to twelve years! In light of what we are exposed to so often, we choose to incorporate the best preventative theories and techniques into the installation work for all new tile work we perform. We also handle the shower doors, plumbing, carpentry, design, installation and sealing.
